Philosophy
Michael’s philosophy begins with acknowledging the astonishing odds that any of us exist, recognizes the inherent value of human life, and appreciates that not only are we limited as human beings, but that is precisely what connects us all. He believes life encompasses experiences ranging from beautiful, to painful to absurd, and that meaning can emerge from any of these.
My Story
Michael began his social work path in 2003 by working with children, teens and families through non-profits and after-school programs. He obtained his Bachelor’s of Social Work from the University of Utah, and a Masters in Social Work from the same institution. He has worked in community mental health, inpatient hospital, in-home, and integrated health clinics. His clinical experience includes work with those living with depression, anxiety, AD/HD, difficulties with a child or parent, dealing with grief and loss, faith transitions, and those trying to find meaning in life after a crisis. This work has included children, teens, and adults from diverse backgrounds and cultures including refugees, people who immigrated to the USA, and a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. Michael offers therapy in both English and Spanish.
